By train
Arrive to the stations in Catania or Palermo ( preferable Catania because nearer ) and wanting to go by train it is necessary to travel in Caltanissetta-Palermo direction and get down at the Dittaino station (coming from Catania one finds undergone before arriving up to Enna) from there is operative a substitutive service in coach which passes from Valguarnera and arrives in Piazza Armerina in about 40 minutes.
By ship
Arrive to the Palermo or Catania ports and continuation in coach, car or train. Different Companies make line journeys with car service and passing with cabin or couchette from the main Italian ports (Genova, Livorno, Cagliari, Civitavecchia, Napoli) until the port of Palermo. It’s better to book such travel with at least a couple of months of advance if one travels during the high season. There are less possibilities to arrive to the port in Catania from the port on Adriatico, however the journey duration is superior. One can embarks from Napoli and Trieste.
By coach
It’s the service to be preferred because there are active fast lines in comfortable and modern coaches which prevalently travel in motorway or in roads connecting Piazza Armerina to Catania and Palermo. Companies who make the regular services are: SAIS and Etna tran sport.
